About Mitt Chen

I’m Mitt Chen. I study Cultural Asset Economics (CAE), with a focus on alternative assets, public markets, ownership risk, and long-term wealth durability.

My work examines the assets, brands, families, places, and ownership systems that conventional market analysis often overlooks — from public companies and real estate to heritage assets, luxury, art, collectibles, family businesses, and cultural infrastructure.

Through The Vault, I publish CAE case studies and investor notes that explore durability, succession, governance, transferability, and the cultural forces that shape lasting value.

What I Write About:
  • Cultural Asset Economics and the drivers of long-term asset durability

  • Public companies with complex cultural, ownership, or governance dynamics

  • Alternative assets, including real estate, heritage estates, art, luxury, and collectibles

  • Family businesses, succession risk, and ownership transitions

  • Market shifts affecting capital, policy, infrastructure, and cultural assets

  • Operational lessons from assets that are difficult to finance, manage, or transfer

My Approach

I do not evaluate assets solely through price, yield, or headlines. I assess whether an asset can endure pressure — succession events, liquidity stress, governance conflicts, cultural change, institutional dependence, and ownership transitions. This resilience question sits at the core of Cultural Asset Economics. AI tools may assist with research and drafting. Final judgment, interpretation, and editorial decisions remain mine.
